Intro:

In this post you will read reasons why most people may feel afraid of becoming a virtual entrepreneur. Today, more than ever, there are people who would like to work remotely but they fear the unknown, understandably. Having your business virtually can be scary but I assure you it is totally worth it! Learning to identify your fears  and how to overcome them will allow you to grow your business in ways you can’t even begin to fathom.

Looking back, it has truly been a journey.  A challenging one but incredibly rewarding. We often look just at the results of successful people and forget there is a process to get  there. I was afraid too. Some of my fears included not having a community big enough, the initial investment I thought I needed to make in order to achieve my business plan and goals. And finally, after years of hard work, I now see how important it is to be committed to your purpose and how the lack of self-discipline can make your business flop. Here you will learn the top 3 reasons that are stopping you from launching your profitable online business.

1. Not having a community while becoming a virtual entrepreneur

This one, I believe is one of the main reasons why people may be holding back from setting in motion their virtual entrepreneur project. Everyone has to start somewhere right? Believe it or not, I started my business account with a small community and a completely different niche. In fact, I didn’t have many followers on my instagram account, I hadn’t even started my podcast or even knew how to nurture my “followers”. Essentially, all I had were big ideas and an open Instagram account.

The hardest part is probably not having people to sell to. Marketing your products and services virtually can be time-consuming and with a small community you might feel like you are never going to find the right customers (or enough). It can also be overwhelming the fact that almost everyone nowadays is on social media. But turn the tortilla upside down and look at the bright side, it is actually a huge advantage to showcase your expertise and have the opportunity to acquire customers from all around the world!

You may be thinking…

that the industry is saturated but it is an industry that keeps growing; therefore it makes place for new businesses too! What you have to say and share is unique. There will always be a place for you in the virtual world. Besides, there is no doubt there are already other people with similar business ideas, but with the right coaching strategy, you will find your own voice and niche. The way this business model has evolved throughout the years, has changed the customers’ experience as a whole. It is meeting their expectations more than ever before.

In fact, a report showed that when given the option between different channels, clients preferred social media as a way to engage with the brand and purchase its products and services. It also showed that 68% of consumers prefer to use the platform before, during and after the purchase process. This is a 9 billion dollar industry! Brands are investing more and more in this type of marketing.

To build a lasting and faithful community, it is crucial to know who you are talking to. You need to know what you are looking for and how you want your ideal customer to be! This was a life saver because on social media, if you are talking to everyone, you are talking to no one. Before launching a new program or even communicating on stories, I always go back to my Ideal Customer Profile.

2. Lack of self-discipline while becoming a virtual entrepreneur

Interestingly enough, lack of discipline is a state of mind. It is the reason why most of the time we get disconnected from our purpose and goals. As a psychobiologist, I go way deeper than your average coach to find the root of this disconnection. Habits are as important as your knowledge to carry out a business and most importantly, to become an entrepreneur.  Long-lasting habits have never been established without:

  1. Finding your purpose
  2. Setting your goals
  3. Overcoming the fears holding you back
  4. Having a transition plan with the right strategy
  5. The right mindset

As you may know, I am a true lover of tips and tricks to optimize anything, especially your own time. This is always crucial but even more when you are an entrepreneur. Without the right guidance, this role can easily lead to burnout, given that at times, it can be overwhelming to see the wide range of tasks in your to-do list. As it can be very overwhelming at times. My top 3 tips to maximize productivity and rest are: dividing your days according to your tasks, setting specific work hours and separate leisure and work spaces, and defining your non-negotiables. You can read more about these here

3. Fear of investment when becoming a virtual entrepreneur

This was a major fear I had way before actually starting to build my first company! But after thousands of hours reading, learning and attending courses and conferences, I learned the power of investment well. In particular, I was not going to let my fear be bigger than my dream job and lifestyle. As a result, I stepped into the unknown but I took the first step.

Hence, I started with an instagram account (free), that was about it. Then, I started growing my audience with new content every week and thus I generated organic traffic to my page. Eventually, I realized the importance of building a mailing list and nourishing your audience. With this step, came having my very own website. Consequently, I felt the need to establish a webpage to offer my services therefore, I hired someone that helped me.

I asked for a $2,500 loan, hoping to pay it back in 6 months, instead in three months, I was already making triple that amount! then, I was able to get certified, build a company, start with personalized sessions, launch an online program which has been sold out each time, build my brand (logo, colors), put a website in place and build a team. What started out as big ideas in my head and journal, has become a team of 4 people reaching multi-figure revenues.

It is important to note that for people like you, who are looking to start your virtual entrepreneurship journey, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need to drop everything today for a dream-life. A strategy in place for a smart work-life-balance transition is extremely important. Without it, you will be doing twice the work and in the wrong direction.. I have the tools to guide you. I will help you learn how the algorithm works and different strategies to grow your virtual business organically. In fact, it is your lucky week because I am opening the last personalized coaching spots with me for the rest of the year. I you want to know more, click here

Bottom line… don’t be afraid of investing in you, becoming a virtual entrepreneur and build your dream business

but do it SMARTLY (prioritize well and act accordingly), it will allow you to grow exponentially. Moreover, investing may sound like “spending money” when in fact, it also involves TIME investment; This is the most valuable asset you have! It is a non-renewable resource. Think about it…investing time now on how to build a profitable and scalable business, gives you the right planning for next year, 3 years and 5 years of your company. In a similar manner, getting familiar with which platforms to use, networking activities and investing in the right mentors, will not only strategize your tasks but accelerate day-to-day processes.  My takeaway: time is free, use it wisely.

In my experience, I have developed tools to overcome these fears… and more importantly, I am here to help you grow and guide you through the process. You are not alone, it is fair to these fears but it is more important how determined you are on achieving the goals you set for yourself. Now onto the bright side!
